 Kreayshawn has quickly appeared on the scene as one of the hottest new stars in music. A pretty impressive feat given that she has yet to release her first album. Instead she came to attention as the result of a video that she posted on YouTube which got a huge number of views. This of course has led to a record deal so her first album should be out soon, and no doubt it will be a great success.

Kreyswhawn whose real name is Natassia Zolot, was born in San Francisco and grew up in nearby Oakland. Her mother was as musician who played in a punk band called the Trashwomen. Despite dropping out of high school Kreayshawn would receive a scholarship to attend film school and as a result here first steps into the music business where in directing videos for some of the biggest names in the world of music. After developing a successful reputation as a director she decided to start performing herself and has since become a successful rapper as well.

 

In order to break onto the scene as a musician Kreayshawn did what a lot of people have done in recent years she created a video and put it on YouTube. The video called Gucci Gucci quickly became a huge hit as it garnered over two million views in just two weeks. As a result of this success she was offered a recording contract so it will be just a matter of time before her first album comes out. When this happens it should be a huge hit given the enormous amount of attention that Kreayshawn has been able to attract. In addition to her work as a solo artist Kreayshawn performs as part of a group called the White Girl Mob.

 
In a lot of ways Kreayshawn represents the new breed of musician in that she is savvy about all of the different media options that are available to her. This is something that a lot of other musicians really don’t understand and it probably has a lot to do with her study at film school. Not everybody will agree that this is necessarily good for music but it is hard to argue that it hasn’t worked for Kreayshawn.
 

 



Perhaps the biggest reason for her success is that Kreayshawn fully understands how to manage her image and her SWAG. She has created an image for herself and she has used here media skills to present that to the world. Again this may not be all that appealing to the purists who may believe that the music should speak for itself but the fact remains that this is how the industry works these days. Besides it isn’t like she has no musical talent like some other performers who rely on their image. Kreayshawn is well respected for being a talented rapper and a very good song writer.
